State's Limited Stay Home Order Begins Tonight

No non-essential services allowed from 10p-5a

The State's limited stay home order and curfew for non-essential businesses and services, as well as personal gatherings in Tier I (purple tier) counties begins tonight, November 21, at 10 p.m.

The curfew, issued by Gov. Gavin Newsom on November 18, is in effect from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night from Saturday, November 21 until Monday, December 21.

This is the same as the March Stay at Home Order, but applied only between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. and only in purple tier counties. Kern County - including Bakersfield - is in the purple tier as of November 17.

The City will utilize its limited public safety resources to continue to respond to priority calls for service and respond to issues around the curfew as appropriate.

Services and businesses that have been defined as essential – such as going to the grocery or drug store, pickup up takeout from a restaurant or even walking your dog – are still allowed during the curfew hours.

The City encourages residents to follow the Tier I restrictions and curfew.
