Fuzz for Funds

The Bakersfield Police Department has again teamed up with the Kern County 999 Foundation to bring back our “Fuzz for Funds” contest. We are asking folks to vote for the “Best” and “Worst” beards of our department.

Our goal is to have staff participate in forgoing grooming standards for the month of December to help raise funds for two local needs. All funds raised will be shared with the Alliance Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault, and Kern County Deputy Jesse Harker's family. Deputy Harker was recently diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and is undergoing treatment. He has served our community for the past twelve years, and is the sole provider for his family, as his wife is the caregiver for their two children, son Anson (3.5 years of age with special needs), and daughter Madeleine (2 years of age).

This fundraising campaign will start December 1, 2019, and will run through Friday, December 20, 2019, at midnight. All donations are 100% tax-deductible and will go directly to those in need. Every donation, no matter the size, is appreciated and will help.

Don’t wait! Get your votes in before Friday, December 20, 2019. Each vote is only $5 and will go to worthy causes. Vote early and as often as you would like- every little bit goes a long way!
