Youth Sports
The City of Bakersfield Department of Recreation and Parks youth sports programs are designed to allow children an opportunity to have fun, participate, and learn fundamental sports skills in a safe environment. The Department’s youth sports programs promote physical and social development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a lifetime of health.

2010 FALL PROGRAMS
- Pee wee Sports
- Fall 5K Run/Walk
- Disc Golf Championship
SPORTS CLASSES, CLINICS, AND CAMPS
Classes, clinics, and camps are offered seasonally and taught by skilled and experienced contractors.
Pee Wee ( 3 to 5 year olds) – These age-appropriate sports activities are designed specifically for pre-school aged child to get an active start. Classes cover introductory skills to a variety of sports including: t-ball, soccer, kickball, track & field, and basketball.
Youth (5 to 18 year olds)
The City offers a variety of youth sports activities throughout the year.
YOUTH SPORTS LEAGUES
In addition to partnering with community groups to provide facilities to various sports programs, the Department offers several youth sports leagues throughout the year.
Indoor Soccer leagues and tournaments are offered year round to boys and girls ages 9 to 19 years of age at the Saunders Recreational Facility. Click the link below for more information
Youth and Pee Wee T-ball Recreational t-ball leagues are offered during the months of June and July to children ages 3 to 8 years of age. Games are held on Saturdays at Silver Creek Park.
