Crime Scene Unit

Crime Scene Unit

The Crime Scene Unit (CSU) responds to all major crime scenes within the City of Bakersfield.  They assist in the investigation of homicides, officers involved shootings, bank robberies, sexual assaults, burglaries, and armed robberies.  The personnel in the unit are on call 24 hours a day.

CSU personnel are responsible for the processing of evidence.  This would include photographing, videotaping, fingerprinting, evidence seizure and diagrams of the crime scene.

CSU personnel are members of the International Association for Identification (IAI) and the California State Division of the International Association for Identification (CADIAI).  Both of these professional associations provide forensic training to keep their members current on new technology in the forensic field.
