INTERNAL AFFAIRS
Internal Affairs is responsible for investigating allegations of police officer misconduct and the issuance of concealed weapons permits.

PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICE
The Public Information Office consists of the Public Information Officer and a Community Relations Specialist. The Public Information Officer (PIO) works closely with all divisions within the police department to release pertinent information to the public through various media sources. The Public Information Officer is also responsible for the producing of the department’s webcast, BPDinsider. The Community Relations Specialist is editor of the webcast and the department’s monthly newsletter. She is also responsible for the assembly of presentations designed for the public and presented by Command Staff and Managers of the Police Department.
CRIMINAL INTELLIGENCE OFFICE
The Criminal Intelligence Office conducts proactive investigations designed to prevent crimes by providing the Chief of Police with knowledge of criminal events which may occur in or near the Police Department’s jurisdiction. This information is designed to allow the Chief of Police to make personnel and deployment decisions to counter the criminal activity. The product of Criminal Intelligence Office results from the collection, evaluation, analysis, integration and interpretation of all available information concerning one or more aspects of criminal activity in our department’s jurisdiction. The Criminal Intelligence Office is responsible for Anti-Terrorist investigations and is in regular contact with local, state and federal agencies with the same mission.
BUSINESS MANAGER
The Business Manager is responsible for the daily finances of the department. These duties include budgetary items, payroll, purchasing and special event billing.
