Beginning the week of April 10th, 2017, the City of Bakersfield will begin a project to reconstruct the roadway on Gosford Road from White Lane to Pacheco Road.
During the reconstruction of the roadway, traffic will be reduced down to one lane in each direction. In addition, access to side streets and driveways will be closed only for the period of time that reconstruction is occurring in these areas. Detours and alternate access points will be provided during these closure periods. This will result in traffic delays, so drivers are advised to use caution and to take alternate routes or allow extra travel time through this area.
The intersection of Gosford Road and District Boulevard will be reconstructed on a weekend (Saturday and Sunday). A forthcoming press release will provide the dates and times of this closure. Detours will be provided during the weekend closure of this intersection. This will result in traffic delays, so drivers are again urged to use alternate routes.
All work on this project is scheduled to be complete in June 2017. The City thanks the public for their patience during the construction of these improvements.
