New Police Chief Announced

December 6, 2016 

The City of Bakersfield is pleased to announce that Assistant Police Chief Lyle Martin has been appointed by the City Manager to be the next Chief of Police of the City of Bakersfield. Commenting on his selection, City Manager Tandy stated, “Lyle Martin has extensive experience in all phases of law enforcement coupled with sensitivity to Bakersfield neighborhoods and history. He is the right choice to deal with the many challenges facing law enforcement in the year 2016 and beyond.”
