The Bakersfield Fire Department participated in the "911 For Youth" race series at the legendary Mesa Marin Raceway.

Firefighters competed against other public safety agencies and educators
in hobby stock car races.

Teens built and maintained these cars through funding from local community sponsors. All cars were designed to be equal, however, there was much competition between the drivers. The rivalry existing between law enforcement and fire agencies was quite entertaining!
