Bakersfield Fire Department - EMS Collaboration
The Bakersfield FIRE Department works closely with the private
ambulance provider to serve the public with a cost effective
level of service. The private ambulance provider staffs units
with paramedics. Fire Department personnel typically arrive
on scene first to provide basic life support service. Once
an ambulance arrives to the incident, they provide advanced
life support service and BFD assist
the ambulance crews as needed.
Emergency medical service skills are maintained by regularly
scheduled training curriculums coordinated by the Kern County
EMS department.
