The City of Bakersfield Curbside Blue Cart Recycling program begins by assuming that all City of Bakersfield residents will take part. If you do not want to participate in the Curbside Blue Cart Recycling program please complete the opt-out form below.

  • The average American discards 7½ lbs of garbage per day.
    Most of this garbage goes into landfills where it is
    compacted and buried.

  • Save up to 2,400 lbs of carbon dioxide (greenhouse gas) a
    year by recycling just half of your household waste.

  • Manufacturing new aluminum cans from recycled material
    uses 95% less energy.

  • Recycling of paper products allow more trees to remain
    standing in the forest, where they can continue to remove
    carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

  • Recycling reduces air and water pollution.

    Note: Blue cart service is every other week.
