Division Goal -
Our goal is to provide excellent customer service in
the maintenance of City owned facilities, traffic control
devices, street lights, signs and street markings, and
the removal of graffiti from City owned facilities and
private property.

Building Maintenance
The Building Maintenance Section maintains all city
owned buildings by insuring clean and sanitary conditions. The
custodial staff is proud of the interior and exterior appearance
and cleanliness of our buildings.
Graffiti
The General Services Division's Anti-Graffiti is responsible for the eradication of graffiti. Residents,
or merchants, whose property has been vandalized with graffiti are encouraged to call the Graffiti Hotline number at 32-ERASE (323-7273).

Plant Maintenance
The General Services Division's
Plant Maintenance Section maintains and repairs all city
owned facilities. Preventive maintenance, repairs of
broken or deteriorated facilities and equipment, high quality
construction and remodel services, and the operation of the
Anti-Graffiti program are the main focus of this section. Excellent Customer Service is the goal
of our Plant Maintenance Section.
Signals & Street Lights
The
General Services Electrical Signals and Street Lights Section
maintains and repairs malfunctioning or damaged traffic signals,
pedestrian crossing buttons, WALK/DON'T WALK indicator lights,
RED/YELLOW/GREEN lights at signalized intersections within
the city limits.
The Electrical Signals and Street Lights Sections also repairs city maintained
non-working or malfunctioning street lights. To report street light
problems, please call 661-326-3781. Our electricians maintain and repair the electrical systems in all city
buildings and parks. Please
provide street light pole #, address and street corner
location in order to facilitate repairs.
The General Services Division's Electrical Section
insures proper air quality and comfortable HVAC systems in
all City owned facilities. The section's HVAC Technicians
maintain all pumps, motors, chillers, boilers, heating units,
cooling units and related equipment.
Signing & Marking
The
General Services Division Street Signing and Marking section
repairs and replaces missing, damaged or vandalized street
name markers, warning and regulatory signs, parking signs,
and guide signs. In addition, they repair or replace
damaged guard rails.
