| Feature Story: New City Park To Be Named "Aera Park" The new City of Bakersfield park at the corner of Jewetta Avenue and Stockdale Highway will be named “Aera Park” in recognition of a $250,000 donation to Bakersfield Southwest Baseball (BSWB) sponsored by Aera Energy LLC. On April 23, 2007 the City Council approved an agreement between the City, BSWB, and Aera to name the park. When completed the complex will consist of 11 baseball diamonds, including at least three lighted diamonds; spectator stands; a concession stand; restrooms; and parking. View an aerial of the site.
