INFORMATION SESSIONS (Voluntary not Mandatory):  July 24, 2014 OR July 31, 2014, City Hall-South, NW Entrance, Council Chambers, at 1501 Truxtun Avenue from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.   Applicants are highly encouraged to attend this Information Session to receive information, and allow applicants to ask any questions about the recruitment and background process.

The COMPLETED Supplemental Application Form and City Application must be received by the Human Resources Office, City Hall North, 1600 Truxtun Avenue, 1st Floor, Bakersfield, CA 93301 by the filing deadline. It is the applicant’s responsibility to make certain that those documents have been properly completed in accordance with the instructions on each form, and received by the Human Resources Office NO LATER THAN 1:00 P.M. ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 12, 2014. The Application Packet and City Application may be downloaded below or obtained in person from the Human Resources Office.

The Regular Job listings link is located on the left side navigation and will take you to the online database of current job listings.

We encourage you to apply online for jobs with the City of Bakersfield. If this is the first time you are applying using our on-line job application, you will need to create an account and select a Username and Password. After your account has been established, you can build an application by clicking on the "Build Job Application" link. This application can be saved and used to apply for more than one job opening. Please note that some positions require additional documents and those positions will require you print out and submit the required documents to the Human Resources Division at 1600 Truxtun Ave (First Floor), City Hall North, Bakersfield, CA.

Promotional Job listings link is located on the left side navigation. ONLY REGULAR CITY EMPLOYEES MAY APPLY FOR ANY OF THE PROMOTIONAL JOB OPENINGS.

How To Apply For Temporary Job Listings
The Temporary Job listings link is located on the left side navigation and will take you to our document repository where we post seasonal and temporary work. These positions cannot be applied for online. You may pick up an application at the Human Resources Division at 1600 Truxtun Ave (First Floor), City Hall North, Bakersfield, CA for these positions.

Applying For A Fire Promotional Position
Because Fire promotional positions require additional documents, certificates, etc., a listing of those types of positions will be posted online in addition to under the "What’s New" area. However, these positions will require a hard copy application accompanied by any required documents. Please refer to the job posting for details on application processing.
