Vaccination, Licensing, Microchipping Clinics

About the Clinics

The City of Bakersfield Animal Care Center host a weekly clinic at the Mt Vernon shelter every Friday from 10:00 am to 12:00pm.  This clinic provides access to city residents to DAPP and Rabies vaccinations for dogs, FVRCP and Rabies vaccinations for cats, licensing and microchipping.  The City of Bakersfield will also be distributing $40 canine spay and neuter vouchers for licensed dogs on a first come first served basis.  All vaccinations are $5 each and a license must be purchased for all canine Rabies vaccinations.

The City of Bakersfield Animal Control division hosts a monthly clinic, at parks within the city.  The clinics provide access to the community for rabies vaccinations, licensing and microchipping.  Several nonprofit groups are on hand to distribute information as well as spay/neuter vouchers.  The cost of the rabies vaccination is $5.00 and a license must be purchased at the same time.

FREE Microchips are available to all currently licensed dogs (chip registration is included.)  This electronic identification effort aids in the reunification of pet and owner, which directly impacts the animals entered into the shelter.   Since the program began in September 2012, we have chipped over 2,300 of the community’s pets.
