It is our first and foremost desire to reunite stray animals with their owners. Animals that are impounded by City Animal Control Officers are thoroughly checked for identification such as a license or microchip. If we can identify the owner of the animal, we will make every effort to return the animal. If we are unable to identify ownership, the animal will be taken to the City of Bakersfield Animal Care Center.
